I'm Nate — an American who fell, completely unexpectedly, for yerba mate in 2025. I didn't grow up with it. I came to it late, as a beginner, and that's exactly the point of view I share from.
Since then I've immersed myself in learning at the source: from yerba brands and producers, from the artisans who make gourds and bombillas, and from lifelong materos generous enough to teach me. I document the whole journey publicly so English-speaking audiences can learn right alongside me.
My goal is simple and long-term: to become the most trusted English-language resource for yerba mate.
